Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

The journal is committed to publishing original, high-quality scholarly work that reflects the principles of honesty, accuracy, transparency, and academic integrity. JIDMC does not tolerate any form of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, simultaneous submission, inappropriate image or data manipulation, or citation manipulation. The journal reserves the right to investigate suspected ethical violations and to take appropriate editorial action before or after publication in order to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Any form of academic or publication misconduct may result in the rejection of the manuscript during the editorial process or the retraction of the published article, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

JIDMC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity and follows internationally recognized principles and best practices in scholarly publishing, including the guidance and recommendations developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Authors, Reviewers, and Editors

Authors are responsible for submitting original research, ensuring the accuracy of their data and findings, disclosing all sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest, and cooperating fully throughout the editorial and peer-review process. Reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations, and disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality. Editors are responsible for managing the peer-review process fairly, independently, and transparently, making editorial decisions solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Editors and reviewers are required to treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose or use unpublished information for personal advantage.

Peer Review Policy

JIDMC employs a double-blind peer review system to ensure fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality throughout the evaluation process. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability for the journal before being assigned to independent expert reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on reviewers' recommendations together with the editorial assessment of the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, and contribution to the field.

Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest. Where necessary, the journal may seek additional independent reviews to ensure a fair and balanced editorial decision.

Conflict of Interest and Artificial Intelligence Policy

Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity of the publication process. The journal permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools solely for language improvement or technical assistance where appropriate. Any significant use of AI tools should be disclosed by the authors. Artificial intelligence systems cannot be listed as authors, and the authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and overall content of their submitted work.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) tools may not be used to generate, alter, or fabricate research data, results, citations, or scientific conclusions. Authors remain fully accountable for every aspect of the submitted manuscript.

JIDMC is committed to the principles of open access, providing immediate and unrestricted access to all published content to promote the broad dissemination of scholarly knowledge. The journal clearly defines its copyright, licensing, and content reuse policies to protect authors' intellectual property while facilitating the lawful sharing and reuse of published research under the applicable license.

The specific copyright license applicable to published articles is clearly stated on each article's publication page.

Transparency and Scholarly Record Correction

The journal promotes transparency throughout the publication process by encouraging appropriate disclosure of research funding and, where applicable, the availability of supporting research data. JIDMC maintains clear procedures for issuing corrections, publishing errata, retracting articles, or publishing expressions of concern whenever necessary to preserve the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record.

Editorial actions are undertaken in a transparent and timely manner to maintain the integrity and reliability of the scholarly record.

Complaints and Appeals

The journal provides a fair and transparent mechanism through which authors, reviewers, and readers may submit complaints or appeal editorial decisions. All cases are handled confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with the journal's established procedures. Final decisions are made after careful consideration of all relevant evidence and documentation.

Policy Review and Updates

JIDMC regularly reviews and updates its editorial and publication policies to reflect developments in scholarly publishing and internationally recognized best practices. Any revisions become effective upon approval by the Editorial Board, reinforcing the journal's ongoing commitment to academic excellence, research integrity, transparency, and responsible publishing.

By submitting a manuscript to JIDMC, authors confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all editorial, ethical, and publication policies of the journal. Failure to comply with these policies may result in editorial action, including rejection, withdrawal, or retraction of the manuscript, where appropriate.
